What's that???

What?  You really like my CAS card I just posted, and you are going to leave me tons of wonderful comments raving about it, BUT there was something else you wanted to know???  ;)  Oh....you want to know who wins the fabulous Boot Loot?????

Oh, okay....I guess I'll tell you.  I used www.random.org and it drew #24!!!  So, congrats #24!!!!

Oh, you don't want to count and figure out who that is, you would rather I just tell you????

Well, after subtracting sub-comments to get the final number for Random.org to draw from, and then counting out to the 24th comment, you come up with:
Deb B (Debadoo)
who said:

Love love love your card!! And what a generous giveaway. Love the boot loot name too. My moment also involved embossing powder. I was very new to stamping and trying to complete a swap, running out of time, and it was very late. I needed copper brads and we didn’t have any. I recalled reading about using copper EP to make them, but the versamark was causing it to come off the brad. So I go to SCS, and posted my problem. Soon I had answers galore. Before I read the one that said just heat the tip of the brad, dunk in powder and heat, I read the one that said melt the powder first til it’s liquid, then dip the brad in the liquid. Well that made sense. Before I continue, let me firmly state that I was very sleep deprived, and had never seen one of those melty pot things for utee and the like. So I dump some ep into one of those paint pallettes with the little wells, aim my heat gun at it (to melt it of course). Yanno how when you’re fixin to do something really stupid, you realize it a nano second before it happens but it’s too close to happening to stop it. To the lady who sends her construction worker hubby to work covered in glitter, don’t feel too bad, I send my son to the Army covered in it all the time too. He let me know that glitter is NOT ever the uniform of the day.

So CONGRATULATIONS DEB!!!!  Please e-mail me your snail mail address at mariemc01@gmail.com

I loved each and every blooper that you shared with me.  I've had my share and they do make for funny stories - especially with those who can understand ;)

Take care and have a great day!!

Boot Loot Time!!! (aka Blog Candy)

Well, as you'll see from this previous post, this is my middle card of the 3 cards that I submitted for the CAS DT Call.  I'm showing them to you in my order of preference from least favorite to the one I liked the most.  Check out the CAS (Clean and Simple) challenges here over at SCS, and PLAY ALONG!!!!!

I will reveal the 3rd one when the Boot Loot Winner is announced on Tuesday, September 15th.

All supplies used are SU! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Great Friend, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay Textured CS
Ink: Bermuda Bay Classic Ink
Accessories: Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Big Shot, Circle Scissor Plus and Glass Mat, Scallop Edge punch, 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Paper Piercing Tool, Paper Piercing Template, Paper Piercing Mat, Stampin' Dimensionals

So...speaking of Boot Loot.....I still remember when I had the contest where I  gave away some goodies to come up with that name for "my" Blog Candy.  You all had some great and funny suggestions!!  I love the name Boot Loot, and hope it's not confusing to anyone.

Could I drag this out any longer??? ;)

What I will be putting up as Boot Loot, is THIS:

Sweet Treat Boot Loot 1Sweet Treat Boot Loot 2

If you can't quite tell by the pictures, you win:

1) the stamp set Sweet Centers
2) a set of 12 Sweet Treat Cups
3) a 1-3/4" Circle Punch!!!!!

All that you need to make treats for your friends and loved ones all year round!!!!!!!!

What do you have to do?  Well, I have been in a wonderful mood since my husband has been home (I get him for about 4 whole weeks before he leaves again!!!!) so I thought I would hold a contest that would continue to bring smiles to everyone by having people tell me their funniest stamping/crafting blooper.  I will draw the winner at random (using random.org) at 8:00 pm on September 14th.  I will announce the winner on Tuesday, September 15th.  You do have to be a US resident to enter and win (because this is current SU! merchandise, and those are SU!'s rules) so I'm sorry to those outside of the US.  :(

I will share something funny that happened to me once.  For those of you that use glitter and embossing powder a lot, you probably do what I do.  I store them in Ziploc sandwich containers so that I can just dip my CS into them and not have to worry about getting glitter/powder all over the place.  Well, one day when I was happily blinging some things up with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter, my darling daughter Sarah who was probably 2 at the time, comes over to peek up on the table, puts her little hands up on the edge, but mistakenly puts them over the edge of the glitter container which then flipped it up and down onto her little face/head.  She was COVERED in Dazzling Diamonds!!  While glitter was a bit of a fashion statement a few years back (remember all of the creams/lotions/gels with glitter in them???), glittery tears (literally) were not.  It didn't hurt her, but it filled her eyes and I was so worried that even though Dazzling Diamonds is pretty fine, it would scratch her eyes or something.  I took her to the bathtub, rinsed her off, and did my best to rinse her eyes.  That, along with her blinking removed just about all of the glitter.  For the next few hours there would be little spots of glitter that were blinked to the corner of her eyes, but I was happy and lucky to discover that no harm was done.  She also had glitter in her hair for quite a while.  It settled on her scalp and lots of scrubbing never got it all out at once.  :)

So....what's your stamping blooper?  Share away and spread the word.  I know that this is a very popular stamp set and I'm sure your friends would like the chance to get it and everything they need to make some "Sweet Treats" for the holidays.

Good luck!!!

PS - I will continue to post between now and next Tuesday but will link to this post in any subsequent posts before the announcement of the winner.

Happy Holidays Blog Hop

Blog Tour

Welcome to stop #6 on the Stampin' Addicts Happy Holidays Blog Hop!  The Happy Holidays Blog Hop will feature sneak peaks of the different stamp sets and accessories available in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog.   This catalog is available to purchase from on September 1st, and the ladies in this hop are going to make you want to buy everything in it!!  There are 40 jam packed pages of the Holiday Mini Catalog that will fit any of your fall/winter holiday needs; from jewelry to Halloween treats, Christmas gifts and Fall cards, this Mini Catalog has just what you need!

If you have been following the blog hop in order you've just seen Sarah's fabulous creations at Lily's Ink Pad featuring the new "Haunting Hill" Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel.  Aren't the images on that wheel just perfect for everything spooky?!?!  This hop is a continuous circle, so no matter whether you start here with my blog, or are following the links to the next blog on each person's post, you'll be able to see it all.  Let's get started!!!

DSCN8065

Well, here is a non-Halloween use for the GORGEOUS new Night & Day Specialty Designer Series Paper, that can be found on page 11 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I have been begging Stampin' Up! for black and white Designer Series Paper (DSP) FOREVER, and boy did they make me happy!!!  This paper is SO versatile, and does not have any Halloween specific images on it, so it works fabulously for just about anything shabby chic, elegant, traditional, or _______ - fill in the blank with your style of stamping.  My projects are all a Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Gray and Melon Mambo palette and these colors were just what I wanted for this little gift set for my daughter's new 1st grade teacher.

You will see that I used the YUMMY new Shimmer Paint, in Frost White (pg 27), on top of the DSP or the Melon Mambo CS on two of the projects.  When you paint it (using a sponge) on top of the Basic Black patterned DSP (this is the pattern I kept in each of the four projects to tie them all together), it turned it a lovely shade of Basic Gray.  Be sure to click on any photographs that you wish to see close-up and personal - it really shows you the shine of that Shimmer Paint.   A little bit of this Shimmer Paint goes a LONG way.  I used about four drops to completely cover each of the 3 flowers on the little matchbox candy box (front center in the above picture) and to sponge the edges of the Melon Mambo flower on the pencil/pen holder.

DSCN8071

Speaking of the pencil/pen holder....  I used some sticky strip to adhere the DSP to the clean and de-labeled vegetable can.  I then used my Scallop Edge punch to punch the Whisper White border for the top, along with my Paper Piercing Tool (which you can now buy SEPARATELY - YEAH!!) and Paper Piercing Mat.  I adhered it using more Sticky Strip.  I then used my lovely Big Shot to run some Melon Mambo CS and the Night & Day Specialty DSP through with the Flower Layers Originals Die.  I then misted the two flowers and crumpled them up and then flattened them back out and dried them using my Heat Tool.  I followed the drying with some sponging of the Frost White Shimmer Paint on both of the flower layers, just along their edges.  Next, I stamped the lovely "B" using the Lovely Letters Alphabet and some Black StazOn ink on Whisper White CS.  I punched the "B" out using my 1-1/4" Circle Punch.  All of these were stuck together using mini glue dots and dimensionals (to attach the "B" to the flowers) and some dimensionals to adhere the flower to the can.  Lastly, I ran my Sticky Strip around the bottom of the can and tied some yummy 1/2" Melon Mambo Polka-Dot Grosgrain ribbon as the final touch.  Behind the can, you'll see the bag that I altered to match my gift set.  I used some of the Specialty DSP along with my Baroque Motifs stamp set to color coordinate my little white gift bag.  I stamped onto some Whisper White CS cut to fit the front of the bag since it's easy to stamp on a bag and get areas that don't stamp due to the creases in the bag.

DSCN8075

This card was a fun one to make.  I used my trusty Big Shot and a new Sizzlet die from the Mini Catalog (pg 21) called Merry Details.  I once again found a use rather than the intended for the product in the Mini Catalog.  This die has some absolutely adorable Christmas trees and a snowflake on it, but I chose to use the little birdie.  I paired it with running some of the Night & Day Specialty DSP through my Big Shot using the Go Go Boots Alphabet dies to create the word "hello".  Where, you might ask, did I find an epoxy button to match the DSP perfectly?!?!  I made it!!  I used my Crystal Effects to cover a little corner of the DSP and let that dry (overnight - I'm too impatient to sit there and watch it dry for hours) and used my 1" Circle punch to punch out the "button".  I attached some Whisper White grosgrain to my button, added it to my 1/2" Melon Mambo Polka-Dot Grosgrain ribbon treatment that was already already tied onto my Scallop Edge punched Specialty DSP that was adhered to a paper pierced and distressed layer of Whisper White CS for an easy and eye-catching element on my card.  The background of my card is also a piece of the Night & Day Specialty DSP.  Aren't you just loving it?!?!?

DSCN8069

This last little creation is my favorite.  It's the first time I used my Matchbox Bigz XL die, and I love this little box.  Did you know that in addition to 10 absolutely fabulous sheets of Designer Series Paper in the Night & Day Specialty DSP pack, you also get TWO sheets of printed window sheets?!?!?  That's right!!  That's why they added the word "Specialty" to this gorgeous pack of papers.  As you should be able to see, the clear window sheet in the paper pack was used to make the sleeve for my little matchbox so that my daughter's teacher could see the sweet little m&m's waiting for her inside.  I used my Scallop Edge punch on the DSP, and my Eyelet Border punch on the Melon Mambo CS.  Some Whisper White and Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon was also used, in addition to a 5/16" Jumbo Brad in Whisper White.  The most fun I had though, was creating my layers of flowers.  I used my Big Shot to use 2 of the dies from the Sizzlits 4-Pack of dies called Birds & Blooms.  It is yet another SU! exclusive die.  I also used a sponge and some of that beautiful Frost White Shimmer Paint on each flower that used the Night & Day Specialty DSP.  It turned it a beautiful shade of shimmery Basic Gray.  I just love it and hope her teacher does too!!!  What do you think?

Well, I hope that you enjoyed my projects and were able to follow along with how I made each of them. As usual I would love to hear what you think, and don't forget to use one of the links to the right to subscribe to my blog for e-mail notification of my new posts.  I have a BIG Boot Loot (aka Blog Candy) contest coming up and subscribers will be the first to know about it! :)  Also, don't forget to start your wish list now to order these fabulous new goodies on September 1st and make sure you check out what Holly has in store for you at Ink Paper Stamps for the next stop on the Hop. Please click on the arrows below to help you find the previous or next participants on the Blog Hop.

Enjoy!!!

WINNER and Card Patterns Sketch #12

First, drum-roll please..................

Random.org gave me number 23 and that is LaRee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Congrats on winning the Boot Loot that I am offering in honor of my DD's 6th birthday.  I am excited to say that LaRee is one of my dear friends, so I know where you live and obviously you won't have to e-mail me.  I think in my Boot Loot contests I've only had a person I actually know outside of blog-land win more than once or twice.  I must admit it's fun to see someone I know win!!!

Now, on to Card Patterns Sketch #12, which you can see HERE.  Card Patterns has the pleasure of letting you know that our sponsor this week is Unity Stamp Company!!!  They have some incredible stamps, kits and other stamping supplies that you can check out on their site and you can enter your sketch on the CP blog using Mr. Linky for your chance to win a great prize from them.  Swing on over to the CP blog to check out the sketch and the amazing cards by the rest of the DT and our Guest DT member.  Don't forget that entering your sketch also puts you in the running for being selected as a Guest DT member with one of CP's future sketches!!!

dscn6613

I hope you like my card - it's for my daughter's teacher.  Teacher appreciation week is coming up, so I thought another apple card was in need to start the little bundle of gifts we're going to be giving my DD's teacher.  I had fun making it and using my Prismacolor pencils again.  It's been a LONG time!!!  The card-base is 6-1/2" x 3-1/4" when folded, so it's a little bit abnormal in size.  I don't really like the 6" x 3" size, so I made it a half inch bigger and started with a 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" square.  Just FYI....

All items used are SU! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps:  ABC Images, Teacher's Apple
Paper:  Kraft, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White CS, Chocolate Chip Textured CS, Washington Apple DSP
Ink:  Black StazOn
Accessories:  Prismacolor Pencils, Baby Oil, Blending Stump, Scallop Square punch, 1-1/4" punch (I trimmed a tiny bit off of the squares to get them to look a little better on top of the scalloped squares), Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, 5/16" White Brads, Vintage White Button (PTI), Linen thread, Paper Piercing Tool and Template, Stampin' Dimensionals, mini glue dots

Boot Loot and a BIRTHDAY!!!

THIS POST TO REMAIN AT TOP UNTIL CONTEST IS OVER

So, today is my oldest daughter's sixth birthday!!!  I can't believe how the time has flown by, and now I have a child that is six years old!!!!!  I just love her so, so , so much!!   We are so blessed to have her as part of our family.  She is sweet and cares so much about the feelings of others.  She tries so hard to please everyone and she is just so smart.  She is such a beautiful little girl who makes my heart melt when she runs around the house making up songs and dancing like a princess or writing sweet things about others in her "book" and draws such adorable pictures of them too.  I love her!!!

In honor of her birthday I thought I would post my boot loot (aka BLOG CANDY, PRIZES, FREE STUFF, MY EXCUSE TO PURGE SOME STAMPING SUPPLIES/ITEMS) drawing today.  The contest will end Friday night April 24th at 11:59:59 Eastern Standard Time.  I will announce the winner with my post for that week's Card Patterns Sketch.  It will be posted at 9:00 am.

The RULES:  Only one entry per person, please - just leave a comment here telling my DD (Emma) happy birthday, and you're "entered" to win.  Obviously, you are encouraged to share the link to my (new) blog with your friends via e-mail and your own blog so that the entries will go up and the prize will get bigger.  You must enter before 11:59:59 pm EST on Friday, April 24th in order to have your name go in the drawing (random.org will be used) to be the winner of the prize.  I will announce the winner at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 25th.   My purpose for this Boot Loot is two-fold.  I hope that people will see that my blog is moved, and will now come visit me here at my new blog instead, and I also thought it would be a super fun way to celebrate my DD's birthday, with YOU!!!!

Good luck!!!

Boot Loot WINNER and a Friday Fill-In....

So, I'll get to the winner really quickly here, and then you can read my Friday Fill-In.

The person who made comment number 4 is LAURA!!!!!  So, Laura, you'll need to get in touch with me so that we can figure this out - I know you will probably not be able to see the new catty on-line with your internet connection "over there" on the 19th so let's see what we can figure out.  CONGRATULATIONS!!!  Thank you to all of you who played.  At 150,000 hits I will do another fun Boot Loot, so keep poppin' in to see when that happens!!

Don't forget about my Stamps in the Mail program I'm starting up again with the new SU Idea Book & Catalog!!!!  You can see the post HERE and I would love to have you join us!!!

On to my Friday Fill-In.  I saw one of these on someone's blog recently - sorry, I can't remember who it was!!!  Anyway, Friday Fill-Ins is a fun little site that gives you some prompts and since I can't share with you yet what I've been stamping, I will just share this.  Monday I should have some cards to start showing you though, so stay tuned!!

1.  Enough with the drama!!!!

2.  My sense of duty causes me to be conflicted.

3.  I've been craving so much...I'm dieting and while I get little tastes of things that I love, I can't inhale them until I can't swallow another bite anymore.

4.  My sweet children make me laugh.

5.  I wish I could go to anywhere but here next week.

6.  A lot has been on my mind lately.

7.  And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to the hubby being home and us spending precious time together as a family, tomorrow my plans include having some friends visit, hanging out with the family, and watching some friend's kids so that they can go on a date (returning the favor from a MONTH AGO!!), and Sunday I want to relax, reflect, and enjoy church.

January 12, 2009

Do you want to win?

Well, I finally decided what I am going to have as the prize for my Boot Loot, aka blog candy on most blogs.  My blog passed 100K hits recently so I thought I would make this be a fun one.  I am really sorry, but if you continue to read, you will see that if you are not a US resident or don't have an APO mailbox, then you can not join in this Boot Loot.  See why below.

Who is excited about the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog that will be revealed on January 19th?  I know I am!!!!!  I am so excited that I even had a DREAM about getting it!!!  Okay, I have a sickness...it's called being a stampaholic - addicted most strongly to the stamps and other items of the SU! persuasion.

So....I thought I would give you a random hodge-podge of short-answer questions to answer.  That's all you have to do to get registered to win.  I'm trying to see if one of the questions ends up with the same results as when it was asked at a function I was at recently.  They're truly random questions, but still interesting...I think anyway.

Please leave your answer to the following questions in a comment below and ensure that you leave your name and e-mail when you post  so that I can contact the winner.  ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PLEASE, and definitely keep reading this post to see the "limitation" listed below:

1.  What is your favorite type of gum?

2.  What is your favorite candy bar?

3.  What brand of toothpaste do you use?

So...I'll tell you my answers after I post the winner.  I will use the random.org program to draw a random winner, so PLEASE only one comment per person to keep it accurate!!!  You have until Thursday at 8:00 pm (EST) to enter and I will announce the winner Friday morning.  Tell your friends to come play and share the fun.

Oh....you want to know WHAT you're going to win???? ;)  I almost forgot to tell you!!  Well, not really, I just wanted to keep you hanging!! :P

I will give the winner a $50 gift certificate to buy anything they want out of the NEW SU! IB&C!!!!!!

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

The great thing for you is that:

 1. I will be expediting this order (because I don't have tax to pay on orders since I live in DE I decided that I would spend the money to expedite this order - I've never done that before, but I really want my stuff!!) so it will ship to me faster.  You won't have to pay for the shipping from me to you either!!!

2.  Because I don't pay tax on my orders, you won't be paying tax on your order, so that means you only have to pay shipping, which if you don't want to spend a penny more than the $50 I'm giving you, you get $45.45 in FREE SU! merchandise!!!!

I will work out the order details with the winner.  We'll want to order ASAP to get these goodies in your hands and not run into a backorder situation with the gazillions of orders sure to go in at the stroke of noon, Mountain Time, on January 19th!!!!

The only limitationis that I can only accept entriess from the US or APO addresses.  Sorry - I would be breaking SU! rules since this is SU! merchandise!!!  I really am sorry to my international friends, and I promise that my next big give-away will not be SU! merchandise that is ordered!!!!!!!!  I appreciate each of you too, I'm just so excited about this new catty that I thought I would make the Boot Loot come from it!!

So, good luck and I can't wait to hear your answers!!!

January 10, 2009

I've done some calculating....

and even though my old counter doesn't currently work, I remember what it was at when I made the post indicating that I was getting close to offering some Boot Loot for hitting 100K.  For those of you new to my blog, Boot Loot is what I prefer to call Blog Candy.  So much more personalized for my blog, don't ya think?  ;)

Anyway, thanks to TypePad keeping track of daily hits and me knowing where I was, and doing some rounding down because I didn't want to do any "hard" addition (hey, I never said I was good at math!!) I came up with a new beginning tracking number of 101030.  So...last night, I started my tracker there and then today and tomorrow I will gather some Boot Loot up and post it here on Monday for you to try and win.

I have no idea what you will have to do, say, or think to win it, so hopefully I'll come up with that too.  I want to do something fun/funny.

Any suggestions????

Have a great weekend!!

January 6, 2009

Getting Close!!

Look for some Boot Loot (aka Blog Candy if you didn't change the name like I did!!) in the near future....100K hits are around the corner - I can't believe it!!

As I've often said, I'll never be one of those blogs that hits a million in the first year or two - there are some GREAT stampers out there who have - but I do appreciate EACH AND EVERY one of your visits.  Your kind comments brighten my day, and I love to share my project with you and hopefully provide some inspiration for you to get creative.

Keep your peepers peeled!!! :)

October 20, 2008

And the winner is.....

I am excited to announce my Blogoversary Boot Loot contest winner!!!!!

First, I thought I would tell you how the winner was picked.  Kristine and I decided to have the person who posted the OLDEST post be the winner. We hadn't thought as far as a tie, but we would have come up with a tie-breaker of some sort if we had needed to.  We thought in a round-about way that since we were having the contests for how long we've been blogging, it would be fun to honor someone who picked the oldest post and perhaps might have even been a reader for the past two years.  Of course, everyone was told to "peruse" our blogs for their favorite posts, so it could have been anyone that won - it just might have taken some digging!  ;)

Without further ado, the winner on my blog is.........

NAOMI VESTEL!!!!  Here is her post:

So this is ancient, but it reminds me of when our girls played together and it is so innocent. Oct 21, 2006 http://bootstostamps.typepad.com/from_combat_boots_to_rubb/2006/10/the-cutest-girl.html

Congratulations Naomi - I will get the Loot out in the mail to you tomorrow!!!  Congrats to Kristine's winner too!!!  You can see who won her Blog Candy by going HERE to her blog.

To all of my readers and all of those that played - having you check in each day and leave such sweet and uplifting comments that give me such great feedback about my creations really brightens my day and brings a smile to my face.  I appreciate each and every one of you.  I wouldn't be blogging if I didn't care about what you think.  Thanks for being such a great group!  Because you're so great I'm really going to get back to giving you a little something as a token of my appreciation at every 25K milestone that my blog hits in visitors.  So, keep your eyes peeled for the next Boot Loot that will occur at 100K!!!!!

October 18, 2008

Tell your friends!!

Okay, so the logic is not good - it means you would have less of a chance at winning, but tell your friends to enter my Boot Loot Blogoversary contest HERE!!!!  I am loving the goodies I'm giving you - in fact, I got similar ones for myself and hope to show you some cards/projects made with them in the very near future.  I'm starting to feel better, so my fingers are crossed that on Monday during naptime I can get some stamping done!!!  Wish me luck on that and make sure you AND your friends enter the contest.  It's not an "I'll pick a random number to win" type of contest.  There is a method behind the madness this time....Kristine and I just aren't telling!  he he he ;)

October 15, 2008

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!

THIS POST WILL REMAIN AT THE TOP UNTIL THE END OF THE BOOT LOOT CONTEST (OCTOBER 20TH).  PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR NEWER POSTS!!!!!!

Did you know that I have been blogging for TWO years on the 20th of October?!?!  I can't!!!!  Something else I can't believe is that fellow blogging buddy, Kristine over at Ink Something, has been blogging for 2 years on the EXACT SAME DAY!!!!

Well, maybe it's not that big of a deal, but we thought we would have some fun celebrating our Blogoversaries TOGETHER, with YOU!!!

DSCN5067

This gorgeous Boot Loot can be YOURS and SO CAN THE BLOG CANDY THAT KRISTINE HAS POSTED ON HER BLOG!!!!!  I've posted a picture of hers below (sorry, my computer messed up the sizing but there is a MUCH prettier and clearer picture on HER BLOG).

Kristine's Blog Candy

Here are the rules:

  • Leave a comment telling me what your favorite post is on my blog (go ahead and look back through my archives if you would like).  You can either link the post to your comment, OR if you don't know how to do that, make sure to tell me the title of the post and date it was posted so that it is easier for me to find.  Please limit it to ONE answer, not several that you like.  :)
  • Visit Kristine's blog and do the same on hers - you DON'T have to tell me which one of hers you picked - tell her!!!
  • Feel free to link this post on your blog so others will want to participate and get the chance at winning.

The first two things are what you HAVE to do to be considered to win. I will pick a winner and post the name at 8:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.  Kristine will also pick a winner, and who knows, you might win BOTH!!!!!!

After plugging in the request on RANDOM.ORG, here is the number that was picked:

Congrats on your big milestone! I'll have to go with Crazy for Cupcakes because I'm a cupcake junkie... but this catalog has LOTS of great stamps in it this time :)

Boot Loot!!!!!

This post will remain at the top until the drawing for the Boot Loot has taken place and the winner is announced.  Check below for new posts daily.

DSCN5025

I realized that I didn't hold a Boot Loot drawing when I hit 75K so I'm doing it now.  Why now, you might be asking?  Well, because I have been finally unpacking my stamping stuff and I have TONS of stuff that I need to get rid of to open up room for the new things I've gotten and basically just to get rid of some of my clutter.

So, here's what I'll be giving away (and I will post a picture as soon as I can take one):

- 100 sheets of 6x6 assorted RETIRED Designer Series Paper (DSP = scrapbook paper) plus some extra sheets of SU!'s old single-sided Designer Paper - for the ultra-observant, I don't have it cut yet so I used 100 sheets of the Prints/Patterns paper packs available as a Hostess Level I benefit in the catalog ;)

- New, unmounted 2008 Sale-a-Bration "Birthday Whimsy" stamp set - DIE CUT!!!!

- 20 chipboard coasters (4" x 4") for you to alter - they're sitting on top of the DSP and they make great mini-albums, just punch holes in them for binding, or you can put mini- calendars on them and a magnet or clip on the back

- 1 black "Ready-to-Make" picture frame (window size is 4-5/8" x 3") that you can cover with DSP

- 6 blank CD Literature files for you to alter (I've made them into books and posted here on my blog is one that I used to send a CD to a friend - link 3 together to make a cute mini-album!!!)

- Unopened tin of Accents and Elements - self-adhesive shapes that you can add to your cards/scrapbook layouts plus you can alter and re-use the tin!!!

What do you have to do to enter?

1. Leave me a comment on this post telling me your favorite stamp set in the SU! Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog.  If you don't have your own copy, you can go to this link (it is the "shop now" section of my SU! website so that you don't have to download the large file which is the whole IB&C - simply look in the shopping section for stamps to see them - you don't have to buy any!!!!  Unless you want to, of course ;)  )

2. Only 1 entry per person, and I will use random.org to draw a winner on the 13th of October at 9:00 am EST.

3. US and Canadian residents and military affiliated entrants with an APO/AE address!!

Boot Loot Winner!!!!!

Drum roll please........

Cindy Vernon you are the winner of the Boot Loot!!!!! Random.org picked commenter # 11. Please e-mail me your snail mail address (see e-mail link in the sidebar) and it will be shipped to you when the August kits are sent out to customers from Go. Be Creative.  Congratulations Cindy and thanks so much everyone for playing!!!!  I will try this again next month and depending on participation levels, that may be the last month I do it, so be sure to tell your friends to come play next month!!!

Gotta go get my household goods delivered here at Dover, so I've got to run.  My arms are sore from painting all day yesterday - boy do I wish I was about 4-5" taller, it would make the world of a difference!!! ;)

Do you want to win THIS??????

THIS POST WILL REMAIN AT THE TOP UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF THE BOOT LOOT CONTEST - BE SURE TO CHECK BELOW FOR NEW POSTS!!

I thought I should go ahead and hold my boot loot contest for the beginning of August since my own blog attendance is going to be sketchy over the next couple of weeks (and I will be at SU! Convention at the beginning of the month).  I am going to hold this contest from NOW THROUGH JULY 24th at 8:00 a.m. EASTERN time - that will be my time zone at that point.  At that time I will use random.org to generate a number to decide the winner.  Please, only one post per person.  Your kit will ship as soon as all of the kits are mailed for those that purchased them.

Here's what you win:

So, what do you have to do to win the August GBC kit (above) you're asking?  Well, here's what I want you to do - either put a link to GBC in a post on your blog - explaining that all you had to do to enter my contest was to do so, or e-mail the link to a friend or friends.  You have to include me on the e-mail - you can "Bcc" everyone if you don't want to share their addresses with me, or vice versa - and my e-mail is in the sidebar or here:  mariemc01@gmail.com  That's all you have to do!  Leave a comment saying you're e-mailing me and your friend/s or leave the link to the specific post where you link to GBC.  The whole point of this is that I LOVE GBC and I hope to get the site's link spread around a little so that people can check it out and discover that it is such a great site.  This is a lot easier than my scavenger hunt last month, huh? :p

GBC's kit club is awesome and even if you don't want to get the kits there's a Message Board at GBC that operates just like the forums over at SCS, for those of you familiar with that site.  You can get a username for free (I'm mariemc on there just like over at SCS) and join in the chit chat with some very fun ladies.  There is a gallery at GBC, and of course, the store.  The GBC store has bind-it-all accessories, all kinds of papers, embellishments and other scrapbooking/crafting supplies.  What's best about GBC is Lainey - the owner/operator/creator.  She is just too cool and I am so honored to be a part of her Design Team.  So, some GBC-promoting links is all I ask.  If you just want to e-mail it to one person, that's enough for me!  The more the merrier though :)  If you don't know what to say you can cut and past this(not sure if the link will transfer, so you will need to check that before you post/send!!!):

Marie is giving away a Lavender Vanilla Scrapbook Kit over on her blog and I want to win it.  All I had to do was post THIS link to Go. Be Creative. (http://www.go-be-creative.com) here and I am in the drawing for the kit.  Check out GBC if you have a minute!

You don't HAVE to use my text, but the link has got to be in there along with a link to my blog.  Shameless plugging, I know, but don't you want a GBC kit that's valued at over $30?!?!!?  I PROMISE you will love it!!!!  Have fun and good luck!!!

Boot Loot WINNER!!

Sorry I took a while to do this.  I had to post all of my "big reveal" pics over on Go. Be Creative.  Anywho, here's the number that random.org chose to win the Coconut Mango July kit:

Randomorg

It's kind of small, but that says #4 and the fourth commenter was VALERIE!!!  So, Valerie, I will get your address to GBC and she will send that to you ASAP.

For those of you who might still want this kit (it is worth every penny!) you have options to just buy this month's kit ($36) or buy several months of kits for as low as $30 and you can choose to skip months if you already have it, or don't want it, etc. until you've gotten all you've paid for.  GBC is the best kit club out there!!!

In case you've forgotten what's in the kit, here's a little reminder:

Featuring: Fancy Pants {About a Boy}
One sheet each of Rockin', Peace, Expression, Vivid, Wild Child, and Chillin' Patterned Papers

Core'dinations Cardstock: Two sheets each of Orange, Scotch, Blue Lightning, and Gecko - sand this textured cardstock to reveal a lighter colored inner core - too cool!

One Fresh and Funky Transparency (use as an over-lay - so fun!)

Artsy.Licious
Chocolate Fine Pressed Letters (divine - and you get upper AND lowercase letters!!!)

In the jar you will find:
Imaginisce Button Brads in Bright Lights and Sugar Daddy (too cute)

Imaginisce Petal Pushers in Bright Lights, Sugar Daddy, and Blue Eyes (gorgeous velvety texture)

Assortment of Buttons, Ribbons, and exquisite Crocheted  (to-die for!!)
