Colors I {Heart}

DSCN5382

As many of you know, Baja Breeze is one of my favorite colors EVER.  Of course, I love Black and White cards a lot too - so the combo is just perfect.  Granted - this Making Memories paper isn't "exactly" Baja Breeze - but it's close enough!!!  I  made this card a while ago and have been meaning to send it to a dear friend, and am a loser.  I thought that by posting it, it might motivate me to get off my bum and get the darn thing in the mail before it gets lost, ruined or destroyed (or all three) by me or my children (or cat!)!!!

DSCN5383To make the little circles of Baja Breeze over some of the "blooms" I used the eraser on a pencil and "stamped it off" once on some scratch paper and then I "stamped" it on top of the image.  I guess it's spotlighting, but whatever it is, it's a fun effect to add a pop of color to a black and white image.  The scallops are made with the corner rounder punch with the guide removed.  Mostly because I can't seem to locate my Scallop Edge punch in the mess commonly referred to as my stamping room.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the Combat Boot Challenge (an inspiration challenge) - I hope that it can be more successful this week :)

Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!  My hubby comes back this next Tuesday, so I will be trying to clean the disaster we've made in the house while he has been gone.  Maybe I'll get to squeeze some stamping in!

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes

Ink: Black StazOn, Baja Breeze classic ink
Accessories: Thickers (Roller Rink Glitter White), clear adhesive rhinestones, paper piercing tool and template, pencil eraser, Corner Rounder punch, dimensionals, silver brad, Basic Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon
