I stamped today!

DSCN7468e

DSCN7467Well, as many of you know, I pre-schedule posts pretty far in advance, when I get a chance to sit down and stamp several cards.  Well, while I'm happy to get to stamp today, the reason is that my little one is so sick he just wants to lay in bed.  Being that he's 23 months old (basically two years-old), anyone who has, has had, or has been around a 2 year-old knows that that's highly abnormal.  Especially with Daniel it's not normal.  Anyway, because he was laying down and I got him all comfy with his paci, his monkey, and some Thomas the Tank Engine on Sprout, I was able to make this card for Inspiration Challenge 185 over on SCS.

IC185To the right are the little shoes that I used as inspiration.  HERE is the link to the Bugaloo site where you can see all sorts of cute little baby/kid shoes.  I thought they looked really close to being Perfect Plum in color, so that's the CS that I used as my card base.  I looked at the picture of the shoes and then went off to create my card.

I wish I had remembered the little white dots on the center of the flower, because as I was making the card I wished I had something to put in the middle of the flower to add some depth, but didn't have any handy embellishments that coordinated how I wanted.  I think I would have punched a 1/2" circle out of Basic Black CS and woud have then either stamped or hand drawn some polka dots on it, and mounted it in the middle with some Stampin' Dimensionals.  Oh well. I think the card is super cute.  It's design is definitely CAS, but the time the stitching took was not very "simple".  I used my Ornare piercing template for the holes that I got a year or two ago at Ellen Hutson's store.  I hand-stitched between all of the holes I pierced.  Maybe I'm just a slower sewer?

Well, I would love to hear what you think.  Check out the challenge to get inspired and if you make something, let me know - I would love to see it!!!

  3. I'm glad you had time to stamp today! I love this card! I wonder if it's because I love color! :) Sure hope Daniel is feeling better soon! Give him a hug for me!

  4. Beautiful Stitching Marie (color and design of the rest of the card too :D). Being the lazy stamper I am I probably would have used a gel pen. Your stitches look so much more elegant than ink however! Sorry to hear the munchkin is under the weather. Hope he improves soon even if it means we see less of your creativity.

    Hugs and blessings - Jean

  7. Girl, you need to get some Thomas VIDEOS. Those are much longer than the 6-minute Sprout segments. You could get TWO cards done. ;-D
