A Gift

DSCN6851

I apologize for the HORRIBLE picture, but I FINALLY got this gift in the mail for someone I made it for MONTHS ago (in FEBRUARY!!!).  She also is getting the card you saw in THIS post, and another little card I made that you will see tomorrow.  For some reason the top and mostly the top right of the little board are out of focus and it bothers my eyes to look at it.  I couldn't take another because it was already in the mail by the time I got on here to post it.

I love making these little bulletin boards.  They're fairly easy to make and the little pebble pins are also fun and easy.  I'm still playing around with getting the thumb tack to stick well to the pebble and DSP.  Crystal effects works great for the DSP on the pebble itself, but I'm not having luck with applying the thumb tack.  I'm sorry if they come apart Lydia!!!  I think I'll try some of my E-6000 or whatever the name of that glue is next time.  Maybe a pool of it will work?  Anyone have any tips?

Not much explaining needed for the board.  Recipe below.

All supplies used are SU! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps:  Upsy Daisy
Paper:  Pacific Point CS, Pacific Point Patterns DSP
Ink:  Pacific Point classic ink and Whisper White craft ink
Accessories:  Glass pebbles (sack from Wal-Mart), Thumb Tacks, Crystal Effects, 1/2" Circle punch, Sticky Strip, Filigree Brads, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Pacific Point 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 6x6 cork board piece (from the Dollar Tree), Black Thickers letters (not sure of name, sorry), backing for largest DSP is cut from the thin cardboard insert in a package of DSP

  1. Very cool little bulletin board! Great color and I love how you put the flower brads at the top to hold the ribbon in place!

  3. Hi Marie,

Very cute board. And I think you are right about the E-6000. Just finished making pebble magnets for a weding using that. We glued dried pansies to paper then glued the flower on paper to the glass pebble and then the magnet to the back. Started out using crystal effects and it turned out that the E-6000 worked much better for both the pebble and the magnet part of the assembly. Dried nice and clear too. I found it also helped if you let either the Crystal Effects or the E-6000 set up for a minute or so before attaching the pebble. Made for a thicker tackier surface.

Thanks for sharing the inspiration and creativity - Jean
