I deleted my TypePad blog - no more paying for a blog for me!!!  Anyway, as you will notice, every single post that was done over on TypePad and perhaps even before has lost the pictures associated with it.  As I get time, I will slowly go through and re-add pictures that I can, but this is a MAJOR disappointment to me.  I didn't realize that this would happen.  Blogger didn't "do this" to me when I switched from Blogger to TypePad, but apparently TypePad isn't as considerate.

ETA 1/21/10 - I'm working on adding pics in Nov 2008 - that's how far I've gotten up to now.   I will remove this post when I have finished updating the missing pictures.

Card Patterns Sketch #18

This is my first card using a Card Patterns while not being on the Design Team.   I saw this sketch and immediately thought of my new stamp, Kind and Caring thoughts.  I then scrolled down and saw that almost everyone had stamped an image on the central panel like I wanted to - a row of different images making up the whole panel.  Also, most of the DT used flowers too.  The sketch just lent really well to a repetitively stamped flower.  I stamped off each image once before I stamped it on my Whisper White CS for the card.  I didn't want the colors as bold as they are without being stamped off.  It was a fun sketch and I suggest you check it out HERE, along with all of the gorgeous cards by the DT.  Did you know that they have a a member of the male variety on the DT?  I don't know of too many male stampers/scrappers out there, but it's pretty neat that the ones I have come across all see phenomenal and Peter is no exception.  Maybe I'm partial to his name...it's the same as my hubby's.... ;)  LOL

Crimped Envelope Card

If you saw THIS post the other day then you've seen the little bulletin board and card that I made for a blogging friend, Lydia.  I made this card for her too, and you'll probably realize that all three projects have some blue on them.  Like me, she is a big fan of blue, and maybe even bigger if that's possible.  I love all shades of blue, from Periwinkle on the purple side, to a Baja Breeze or even Teal Blue on the green side.  Blue is GREAT!!!

A Gift

I apologize for the HORRIBLE picture, but I FINALLY got this gift in the mail for someone I made it for MONTHS ago (in FEBRUARY!!!).  She also is getting the card you saw in THIS post, and another little card I made that you will see tomorrow.  For some reason the top and mostly the top right of the little board are out of focus and it bothers my eyes to look at it.  I couldn't take another because it was already in the mail by the time I got on here to post it.

I love making these little bulletin boards.  They're fairly easy to make and the little pebble pins are also fun and easy.  I'm still playing around with getting the thumb tack to stick well to the pebble and DSP.  Crystal effects works great for the DSP on the pebble itself, but I'm not having luck with applying the thumb tack.  I'm sorry if they come apart Lydia!!!  I think I'll try some of my E-6000 or whatever the name of that glue is next time.  Maybe a pool of it will work?  Anyone have any tips?

2 Sketches 4 You Ultimate Card Showdown and some NEW stamps!!

So, I got my sneak peek order of SU! goodies, and this card is what I came up with.  I am LOVING the Rich Razzleberry and I thought that this color combo combined with this FABULOUS sketch from 2S4Y would just make a stunning card, and I'm really pleased with the results.  You can see the sketch over at 2S4Y by clicking HERE.  I made this card for their First Annual Ultimate Card Showdown.  It is a great sketch with so many possibilities, and the creations of the other gals so far are simply gorgeous.

I had fun layering the little "medallion" from the sneak-peek set Circle Circus stamp set (it will be in the new Idea Book & Catalog - available July 1st), and using a Build-a-Brad for the very top-most layer.  It was a pretty quick card to put together (which is why I even got to play along today, since I only had about 30 min of "me" time to do it!!!) and I think you should all play along with 2S4Y this week!!!

For the "happy birthday" layer I used the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes (in the new Idea Book & Catalog ) and along with my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment all over.  Rather than use Orchid Opulence, I stamped off the Rich Razzleberry for some of the images.  This stamp set has TWENTY FOUR stamps for occasions, and includes pretty much every holiday I would ever want a stamp for, one for a birthday, thinking of you, thank you, sympathy, graduation, and on and on!!!  it is a great stamp set, and the sentiments all fit in a punch that you will probably start seeing around that is also in the new Idea Book & Catalog called the Modern Label punch.  Also, that textured Crushed Curry CS I used came in an 8-1/2 x 11 assorted In Colors package.  Can you say 8-1/2 x 11 TEXTURED CS?!?!?!?!  And that polka dot ribbon?!?!?!?!  Yippee!!!!

Some simple cards

I made this first card to include in care packages for the 2 Airmen that I am sponsoring who are deployed with my husband.  I kept them simple so that they would be more masculine because both of the Airmen I got are male.  I kind of liked how my wheel didn't stamp the stars perfectly - they are a little more vintage-looking because the solid part has some texture.

Not all of the Airmen that deployed are married, so if they aren't then they are given a sponsor who will send them goodies occasionally.  The two I was given say they don't need anything, so I'll be sending them some packages of blank cards to use (see the pictures below) and also some cookies and other small treats.  I hope they like what I send and can use it all!!!

A Card and a Box

So, this is the last card I have to show you from April's Stamps in the Mail kit.  I really love using the Damask image to make a background, like I did in THIS card for my Great Swaps Girls swap.  I used THIS sketch, from Splitcoast Stampers.  It was SC224 and I think I really interpreted this in my own way this time.  I kept the two horizontal elements by using two pieces of ribbon, but I did alter it in that they are in front of the panel that the background is stamped on.  I just love that you can take a sketch and use it for inspiration, and sometimes you stick exactly to the sketch, and sometimes not.  That's what they're for, right???

To the right is a little 2-5-7-10 box that I made to hold some hugs and kisses for my oldest daughter's teacher.  We were supposed to shower them with "hugs and kisses" on one of the days during Teacher Appreciation week.  I kept the bag fairly simple, and let the Walk in the Park DSP speak for itself pretty much.  Thought I'd throw it in on this post since I forgot to post it a few weeks ago when I made it.
