Two cards in one day!!!

That's right - believe your eyes!!  This is the 2nd post from me today with a card in it.  I don't think I'll get to post again until Saturday for the Card Patterns sketch reveal, so have a great weekend if I don't e-ya before then!!!

Details on the card....I took a Heidi Swapp ghost flower and laid it over some Raspberry Tart DSP and trimmed a flower out with my hobby blade.  I attached a Whisper White Designer Button with a Clear Rhinestone Brad through the middle (something I started doing recently and I really like the effect - see my first card where I did this HERE) on top of the Ghost Flower and Raspberry Tart flower and presto!  This was a simple card to make - some quick dry embossing and paper piercing (I CAN'T leave that off of a card!!!) and I was done.  Hardly any stamping - just the sentiment.  These new Clean and Simple (CAS) challenges over at SCS are right up my alley.  I'm sure many of you have noticed that that's definitely my style of stamping.  Anyway, go HERE to see the current list of CAS challenges over at SCS.  HERE is CAS08, the one that I followed for making this card.  It was a sketch challenge.

I just wanted to tell each of you thank you so much for your visits and comments on my blog.  I appreciate each and every one of you, and I read each and every comment.  The last week has been crazy and I don't see things slowing down much, so those of you who regularly comment may have noticed that I haven't been replying to every comment you leave.  I will not have the time to do that anymore.  I will reply back ASAP if you ask something in your comment, but I just don't have the time to do what I need to on my computer along with what I "want" to, and also reply back to all of your lovely comments.  It's a something that I really enjoyed doing for each of my visitors, and I'm sad to have to stop, but a girl has got to prioritize ;)  I'm sure you'll all understand, and again, THANK YOU for taking the time to visit and leave me encouraging and supportive words. I greatly appreciate them!!!

Tree Swap Card

A couple of months ago I hosted a swap that originally started out as a "use a stamp set from pages 90-91 in the new SU! IB&C" and it morphed into including those sets and any tree set in the IB&C.  I made this card using the instructions for doing so from Stampin' Success (a magazine that demonstrators receive free each month from SU!).  It was a fun card to make and would make a GREAT workshop card.  It's pretty easy to make and it has a little fun surprise of the top panel "swinging" open on the brad that is used as a swivel point.  Anyway, hope you like it!  I do love my little Trendy Trees!!

For the first time ever, my husband actually gave me some input on a card.  I told him I was a little stumped as to what kind of card to make.  I knew I needed a thank you card, but not the "theme".  I've been using Friends 24-7 so much that I really wanted to NOT use it.  He said to do something "springy" and the first thing I thought of was flowers, then this Petal Pizzazz set I hadn't ever used yet, and then I thought of this paper from the upcoming Occasions Mini catalog called Walk in the Park. I loved the color combo in the paper pack, so this is how I came up with it.  I also decided to use a little piece of the Bojo Designer Hardware that my pal Carmen sent me in my little "Friend to Friend" swap.  I will have to get some more of this hardware - it's so fun!!!  Anyway, I hadn't used my little Martha Stewart butterflies punch yet and really wanted to and so I decided to add some butterflies to the Scallop Oval layered sentiment.  That Scallop Oval punch is quickly becoming a favorite punch of mine.  I bet you can't wait for the Occasions Mini to become available April 1st to get it, huh?!?!  It's super fun to use!!!  So...that's it.  The rest of the card is pretty self-explanatory.  I hope you like it!!!!

Quick Post

This is a card that is in my Stamps in the Mail kit for the month of March.  It was a very simple layout, but I think that in real life this card is very beautiful.  The photo doesn't quite do it justice.  I liked the So Saffron layer on top of the other So Saffron layer for some subtle depth.  I just love the Friendly Words jumbo wheel that coordinates with the Friends 24-7 stamp set.  I know that my SIM participants will love it too.  I used the rock n' roll technique to get the edges of the damask inked in Chocolate Chip ink.  I'm referring my SIM participants to THIS link on Splitcoast Stampers to see a tutorial on the technique.  As many of you know, I'm not one much for re-creating the wheel...no time for that!!!  :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Fresh, Oval Thank You

Well, I wanted to let everyone know that I will be posting a lot less frequently for at least the next 6 months.  When I get a chance to stamp, the best you'll probably see is a new post about every other day.  This is because we are getting ready to say goodbye to my DH for 4+ months when he gets to go "over there" for the Air Force on a deployment.  As most of you know I have three kids under age 6, so my hands are full.  Kindergarten here is only 1/2 day, so that's the only point in time - for 2.5 hours in the morning - where my hands are a little less full, but my littlest one, my baby boy, is the one who keeps me on my toes the most and obviously he's still here even when my eldest is away at school.  It's VERY hard to stamp when he just wants to help mommy do it.  When he's a little older it will be fine, but now, it's a little difficult to stamp with him ;)  So...we're enjoying as much family time as possible before Daddy leaves and then when he is gone I don't see it getting much easier to stamp.  So...yet ANOTHER plug to subscribe to my blog.  I've got a link in my sidebar, or you can always use Google Reader.

Now, on to what you're HERE for!!!  Today's card is one I made as soon as I got my 2-day-shipped SU! pre-order that had this fun little Oval All stamp set in it.  It's for a blogging friend and I'm posting it even though I haven't sent it yet to get myself up off my behind to MAIL IT along with the little goody I also made.  I'll post that one later after she gets it. To make the brad-in-a-button, I simply took one of the middle-sized Circle Rhinestone brads and pushed each prong through one of the holes in the center of the button.  Using my wire cutters that are on the pliers from the Crafter's Tool Kit, I clipped the ends of the prongs shorter and folded them each in towards the middle so that the would keep the brad "put" and not stick out past the flower in the center of the button (or the edge of the button itself).  Easy peasy!!!

The other little thing I'm sending her is nothing monumental, but I wanted to send more than a card to say thanks to her.  So...hope you like the card, and have a great day!!!
