Inspire.  Create.  Share.  Lydia, over at Understand Blue just informed us that SU! has come up with a new "tag line" and I LOVE it!!  So much so that I incorporated it into my blog description.  See my header above.

Oh, and I WILL post a pic of my stamping space later.  I have already started to clean it up...just took a break to get some Leadership Convention updates!! :)

Did you know that SU! will have DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING LATER THIS YEAR?!?!?!?!?!  YEAH!!!!!!!

Should I show you? And...remember this card?

So, who wants to see my stamping space - after the tornado hit it??  I have about 7x7 inches worth of space to work in due to all of the clutter on the table, so, needless to say - I need to clean it. 

I don't have anything new to show you because per one of my New Year's resolutions I have been de-cluttering my house and I didn't start with my stamping space, unfortunately ;)  That means I haven't stamped and don't have anything new to share.  Maybe I'll take a pic of my mess and embarrass myself in blog-land???

I am just giving myself a pat on the back.  I sent this card in to SU! a while ago with all of the other lady's cards in the swap I hosted who wanted theirs sent in, and it's on the Stampers' Showcase on the SU! Demonstrator Website today.  Yeah me!!  :)

Getting Close!!

Look for some Boot Loot (aka Blog Candy if you didn't change the name like I did!!) in the near future....100K hits are around the corner - I can't believe it!! 

As I've often said, I'll never be one of those blogs that hits a million in the first year or two - there are some GREAT stampers out there who have - but I do appreciate EACH AND EVERY one of your visits.  Your kind comments brighten my day, and I love to share my project with you and hopefully provide some inspiration for you to get creative.

A Color CHALLENGE and a Sketch

 

Can you believe that over on the Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge they have reached CC200?!?!?  That means that they have given us TWO HUNDRED color combos to try!!!  Well, Emily DID NOT make the 200th easy - for me at least! ;) 

    

They say (whoever "they" are?) that a lot of beginning stampers use a lot of Bold Brights in their stamping.  You know, the classic crayon type colors - red, blue, green, yellow, orange, etc.  Well...I was NOT one of those people.  I gravitated towards the Soft Subtles in the VERY beginning but shortly thereafter used a lot of Earth Elements.  That is my comfort zone - EarthElements or colors that go well withthem.  So...when I saw that the CC200 color combo was (as you can see from my card and the swatch above) Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green, I almost decided to not even give it a thought or so much as a try.  Well....then I started thinking that I do really like Pumpkin Pie and although Old Olive is TOTALLY my green of choice, I could perhaps make the Garden Green work for me.  As I started playing withthe way I wanted to balance my colors I realized I didn't really want an "orange" card, so I made the card base Brilliant Blue and went from there with my layers.  I hope that only using the Garden Green for leaves isn't cheating!!! ;)  I used my SU! Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter to do the main floral image (I even used the Brilliant Blue to outline the flower), but on the little flower that's attached to the sentiment I simply used my SU! markers.

As for the SKETCH...well, it's not mine.  It's this week's sketch over on Card Positioning Systems.  It's CPS 98 and it was SUPER fun to work with.  I always love the sketches over there, that's why I permanently display the lovely CPS banner over in my left-hand sidebar.  Now you'll know you can always go check them out from my blog!   As you can see if you go take a peek at the sketch over at CPS, I pretty much stuck to it.  Because I had so many blue on blue layers over on the right-hand side of my card, I stamped a little bit of the Sanded BG stamp over there in White StazOn.  I wanted the layers to at least have a little contrast - between the Sanded BG and the white dots on my Scalloped Oval layer. 

Anyway - I hope you like my card!!!  It's definitely a bright and happy one!! :)

I will hopefully get to stamp the card I have sketched out later this afternoon when my little one naps.  I also thought I would mention that Feedblitz does not appear to be working with my blog, once again.  So...if you happen to get this update via Feedblitz, let me know otherwise.  This is why I no longer link to it in my sidebar.  I recommend Google Reader to subscribe to my blog. Mojo Monday Meets "Fancy Top Note"

 

I really loved THIS sketch when I saw it over on the Mojo Monday Sketch Blog.  You can check out the blog by clicking on the link I provided above.  Immediately I knew I wanted to use the Top Note Bigz Die and for the first time I did a little trimming along the edge to remove the CS between the edge of the die cut shape and the little outline of "faux stitches" if you want to call them that.  I've never tried cutting that piece off, and it wasn't actually very easy.  It wasn't smooth and I had to keep trimming ever so slightly until I got it smooth, but it's not as perfect as I would like it to be.  I just had to give up.  Hopefully you don't notice ;)  Anyway, by removing this edge, I was able to layer another Top Note die cut out of Basic Black CS beneath so that it was matted nicely.  I really wanted a black layer beneath everything.

Other than that, I used my new stamp set Flower Fancy and I have plans to use it again tomorrow with the CPS sketch for this week.  I've already drawn that one out and now I just need to sit down and stamp it.  I'm having a lot of fun with this stamp set.

Oh, and that GORGEOUS Designer Series Paper on the base of the card is some of the Raspberry Tart DSP that will be in the NEW Idea Book & Catalog that will be revealed a little bit later this month!  I LOVE it and can't wait to use it all up!!  The patterns are so vibrant and I love the color combos.

 I hope you like my card.  Take a look at the Mojo Monday sketch blog each week for some really great sketches that Julee comes up with.  She's amazing at creating really well balanced and inspiring sketches.  I've used them MANY times when I need a little help - I can't help but want to create with them!!

I can't wait to send this card to a dear friend of mine.  I think I might scoot the big flower down just a smidge and after I do I just hope that it and the other flowers which I popped up with double layers of dimensionals and curled the petals stay pretty in the mail!! :)

Nancy Riley over at iSTAMP was SO sweet, and she picked something I made (I am so flattered!) as one of her iPICKS for this week.  The project she featured was my little domino ornament, and I have received so many e-mails asking exactly how I made it that I edited the post with the details.
